Though we are from New York, while living in the Northeast we prefer seafood but in Maine we had to live up with crab cakes. Wonderful tasting crabcakes come from the source. When we got back home, we started to crave some crab cakes but we weren't going to travel back to Maine.
So, we decided to look up a crab recipe online. Now, that was hard. We were told to buy expensive crab meat as most of the recipes were difficult to prepare. I think we'll have to go back to Maine soon. Whether you are looking to serve crab cakes at your next dinner party or informal get-together, you can find many different crab cake recipes online. Just go to your regular search engine and type in crab cake recipe. From there you can select the website you want to try.
Keep in mind that crab cakes are usually served as appetizers, but they do quite well as an informal entre, or as part of a larger dish. If you are going to serve them as appetizers, you want to make sure you also offer interesting sauces or dips to go along with the tasty cakes. You can browse for suitable recipes online. If you like to prepare a recipe that's little spicy, like a red pepper sauce, you can still do it.
Go with the tried and true red cocktail sauce for an otherwise good, hearty tarter sauce.
